A Nebraska woman with a blood alcohol level over three times the legal limit was found guilty in Redwood County District Court this week of driving while impaired in Redwood County.

According to Redwood County Attorney Jenna Peterson, Donica Marie Slama, 44, was observed by a State Patrol trooper crossing over the center line on County Road 6. The trooper followed her onto Highway 19, as she weaved back and forth at 67 miles per hour.

After stopping Slama’s vehicle, the trooper noted the scent of alcohol from her car and an open can of liquor in the center console. Slama failed field sobriety tests. She was transported to the Redwood County Law Enforcement Center, where a breath test showed an alcohol concentration of .28.

Slama will be sentenced June 28th at the Redwood County Courthouse.
