Redwood Area School District plans to resume in-person learning by Feb. 9

The Redwood Area School District now has a plan in place to transition to an in-person learning model.

According to Superintendent Becky Cselovszki, the COVID Committee met Monday and agreed on a plan that would have students back in school on a rotating basis starting as soon as Feb. 9.

There will be no school PreK-12 on Feb. 8.  SACC will be available for registered families. On Tues., Feb. 9, grades 7-8 at the Middle School and grades 9-10 at the High School will begin the in-person learning model everyday. Grades 11-12 will resume in-person on Mon., Feb. 22.

The district will have an early release for students each Wednesday. Release time will be 1:15 p.m. at Reede Gray, and 1:30 p.m. at the MS/HS for grades 5-12.  The first date will be Wednesday, March 3 and it will be each Wednesday for the remainder of the year.

Cselovszke stated, “With these changes, we realize social distancing is compromised, therefore it is important to continue to follow all other mitigations in place with fidelity-masking, handwashing and sanitizing, cleaning, seating charts, etc.  In addition, teachers need to maintain 6 feet from students when possible…. It is exciting that we are at this point and I hope we can finish the year in school with our students.”
