A crew will begin surveying the sediment in Lake Redwood beginning the week of Oct. 4.

Area groups have been working on dredging Lake Redwood back to its original depth for over 25 years. After decades of planning and engineering prep, and having funding from the state legislature fall through several times, the Redwood Cottonwood Rivers Control Area has announced the start of visible on-lake activity for the Lake Redwood dredging project.

RCRCA Executive Director Kerry Netzke stated on Thursday that JF Brennan Company will start conducting a sediment survey upon Lake Redwood the week of October 4.  This will be completed using an airboat and Marshmaster that can handle the shallow areas.

By mid-month, the contractor will begin to fuse and lay the pipeline out to the containment facility for the sediment.  More updates will be forthcoming when actual dates are known.
