The Redwood Area School District School board met on Monday, and the biggest news to come out of it is that, for the most part, this coming year will be a pretty normal school year. Redwood Area School District Superintendent Becky Cselovszki told KLGR:
What changes can parents expect compared to last year? The state has changed its attendance requirements, so there will be no distance option. Cselovszki said the expecation is that wll students will be in the high school, middle school, and Reede Gray Elementary School when classes start.
The Redwood Area School District is following Minnesota Department of Health and Education guidelines, and recommending masks for all unvaccinated students.
Beyond this coming school year, the school board also heard some possible ideas for how to handle the aging Reede Gray Elementary School building. Ideas range from modifying the current facility to building a new one — although at a cost:
The new school year for the Redwood Area School District begins when students return on Sept. 7.
CLARIFICATION: While the article above focuses on how the mask rules affect students, the Minnesota Departments of Health and Education recommend all people in the schools wear masks, not just students. And by all people, not just those who are unvaccinated.
