Pickup rear-ends school bus in Kandiyohi County Tuesday; no injuries reported

A pickup rear-ended a schoolbus in Kandiyohi County Tuesday morning.

According to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, on Sept. 20, at 7:31 a.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus in the 3300 block of NE County Road 40.

A School bus from the New London-Spicer School District was stopped on Co Rd 40 with its stop arm and red colored warning lights activated when it was rear ended by a 2017 GMC pickup. The School bus had 21 students onboard at the time of the crash; however, none of the students were injured.

The driver of the GMC pickup was identified as Dylan Jay Windingstad, age 23, of Wyoming, MN. He was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.
