The peaceful march to honor George Floyd, planned in coordination with area law enforcement, starts Friday at the Redwood Falls airport.

Area residents have planned a peaceful march to be held in Redwood Falls this Friday to memorialize the death of George Floyd.

The Redwood Falls Police Department, Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Lower Sioux Police Department, and Redwood Falls city staff will provide traffic control to ensure the safety of all participants and motorists. Members of the Police Department and Redwood Falls City Hall will participate in the march.

The event will start near the Redwood Falls Airport this Friday at 5:30 p.m., and end at the Zeb Grey shelter. The route will follow the East Bridge Street frontage road, then proceed onto the sidewalk.

A memorial service is set for the Zeb Grey shelter from 7-8 p.m.. Lars and Mars transportation will be providing rides from the Zeb Grey shelter at the conclusion of the memorial service.
