One dies, another severely injured in crash on icy Highway 19 Monday

A Washington man died, and a North Mankato man were severely injured in a Sibley County collision with a semi-truck on an icy Highway 19 Monday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a little after noon on Feb. 27, Travis Brandon Engfer, age 47, of Litchfield, was driving a 2019 Kenworth semi-truck westbound on Highway 19. Near the intersection with County Road 13, the truck and a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Ubah Mohammed Osman, age 33, of Seatac, Washington, collided.

Osman was declared deceased at the scene. His passenger, Zamzam Abdi Hassan, age 31, of North Mankato, was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Assisting on the scene were Ridgeview Medical, Glencoe Police Department, and the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office.
