An Olivia woman, Rebecca Ann Bellig, age 50, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for felony drug offenses.

According to court documents, on May 5, 2022, the Redwood Falls Police Department was notified of a woman who was apparently under the influence of something in a Redwood Falls store. Officers arrived to find Bellig in a car in the parking lot with the engine running. A check on her driving status indicated her license had been revoked, and she admitted to officers that there was marijuana and methamphetamine in the vehicle. She also kept scratching herself, and insisted there were insects crawling all over her body. A check of a blood sample turned up evidence of methamphetamine use.

A check of Bellig’s legal status turned up that she two years earlier she had been convicted of a gross misdemeanor controlled substance crime in Blue Earth County.

On Aug. 7, Bellig was convicted of felony 5th degree drug possession and gross misdemeanor DWI to a total of 364 days local confinement, stayed 334 days for two years, two years supervised probation, and fines and fees of  $1,065.
