The Olivia City Council Monday night rejected a motion to move forward with a combined city hall-police department and fire department.

Architects had recommended the city accept the 3.6 million dollar bid for the project submitted by Kue Construction of Watkins. The project involved renovation of the city hall and fire hall and adding a police department at the current city hall location.

According to KWLM, Mayor John Hawkinson says the council voted down the motion Monday night, but they will continue to examine other options for city facilities in the future.
