A New York Mills man, Adam Francis Doehring, age 43, has been sentenced in Redwood County Court for attempting to run over a woman with his car at a local business.

According to court documents, on Jan. 11, 2020, the Lower Sioux Tribal Police Department was called by the Jackpot Junction Casino security office about a driving complaint. Security staff stated security cameras showed a woman dodging to avoid being struck by a car in the parking lot.

The Lower Sioux Tribal Police Officer spoke to the victim, who stated her boyfriend, Adam Doehring, got into an argument in the casino and then headed outside for the car. Doehring entered and started the car, then drove it directly toward the victim. Security cameras indicated Doehring then turned the car around and attempted to strike her a second time as she was running toward the casino entry doors.

Later investigation showed that Doehring’s driver’s license was revoked, and that he had previous convictions for domestic assault and malicious punishment of a child.

On march 6, Adam Francis Doehring was sentenced to 21 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud.
