National Weather Service Predicting Major and Near Record Flooding In The Area

With plenty of recent rains and more expected to continue through Saturday, the National Weather Service is now predicting major flood warnings in many areas. The Minnesota River near Morton is forecasted to peak at 28 feet. The current record is 29.3 feet. The Cottonwood River near Springfield is forecasted to peak at 31 feet with a record of 32.9 feet, following The Cottonwood River, near New Ulm is forecasted to peak at 19 feet with a record of 20.9 feet.  Residents should stay alert to updated forecasts and be ready to take immediate action if flash flood warnings are issued.
