On Wednesday afternoon the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Minnesota River near Morton, in effect until Friday evening.
According to the NWS, the water in that area reaches the flood mitigation culverts on Riverside Road at 19 feet. At 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the water had reached 20.7 feet, and so minor flooding is forecast, cresting at 21 feet.
Occasional light rain showers over the next couple of days will should not affect river levels much. The general trend over the next week is for rivers to slowly recede.
