The Minnesota National Guard honored area health care workers with a fly-by over Carris Health – Redwood Wednesday afternoon.

At a little after 12:30 p.m., several hundred gawkers of all ages gathered around the Carris Health – Redwood hospital waiting to see what the National Guard was sending their way. Everyone looked to the southeast, since the planes’ previous flyover was over the New Ulm hospital.

At about 12:50 p.m., voices shouted, “Here they come!” Moments later a pair of C-130 cargo planes buzzed the hospital from several hundred feet up.

Moments later they planes disappeared over the treetops and rooftops on their way towards hospitals in Luverne and Worthington.
