Montevideo man’s death still under investigation by BCA

According to the Montevideo Police Department, the cause of death of Mitchell Bruce Twite, 69, remains undetermined.
A postal worker found Twite’s body, with a stab wound, in a grassy area next to the post office parking lot in the 300 block of 1st Street. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office identified Twite on Wednesday.
Twite, of Montevideo, was a longtime bartender at Inn Like Flinn’s. A Facebook post by the bar said a candlelight vigil was held Tuesday night in Twite’s honor.
The Montevideo Police Department is actively investigating this case with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. There is no known threat to the public.
