A Lucan man, Robert Steven Miller, age 27, was sentenced in Redwood County Court for felony domestic assault.

According to court documents, on April 22, 2022, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office about an assault in Redwood County. The victim informed Redwood County deputies she had been assaulted by Miller earlier that morning. She stated Miller had gone through her phone records, learned she planned to leave, and grabbed her around the neck multiple times, or hit her with a closed fist. She also claimed at one point he held a kitchen knife to her back. There were two minor children in the residence at the time.

When deputies contacted Miller by cell phone, he stated he was in a vehicle, that no one had hit the victim, and refused to meet with deputies. He finally hung up on the deputies. The state finally issued a warrant for Miller’s arrest.

On August 7, Miller was sentenced to 15 months in the correctional facility in St. Cloud, stayed for three years, local confinement for 45 days, three years supervised probation, and fees and fines of $360.
