LINC Redwood County resumes for 2021-22 program year

The LINC Redwood County Board of Directors announce LINC Redwood County resumes for the 2021-22 program year. 

LINC Redwood County was developed by a group of community-driven individuals to provide community members the opportunity to attain high-quality leadership training locally, and learn more about the assets found in Redwood County. Seeking qualified individuals to serve in leadership positions such as an elected official, civic organizations, for-profit or non-profit boards or faith-based boards continues to narrow as our population ages.  

LINC Redwood County is a nine-month program put on by the University of Minnesota Extensions’ Center for Community Vitality and a group of volunteers from communities throughout Redwood County.  LINC engages community members to lead, inspire, network and create to build a sustainable future in Redwood County.  The program runs from September through May and consists of 24 participants.  Individuals who live, work or worship in Redwood County or have a child attending a Redwood County school may apply to be selected as a participant.  Each monthly session is held in communities throughout the entire geography of Redwood County.  Participants will engage in an educational program in the morning focusing on the different aspects of leadership; navigating conflict, followership, ethics, cultural competency and much more.  The afternoon is spent touring local businesses, historic places, farms and unique assets in the county.  On the tours, the group learns how these places benefit Redwood County and the important role they play for everyone living within the County.  The investment for participating consists of two elements; time and a tuition fee. Program tuition is $450, which includes education and lunch per session.  Tuition assistance is available for consideration and should be noted at the time the application is submitted.  Payment plans are also available if needed.  Sessions will be held in-person, following CDC requirements. 

“LINC Redwood County is stepping into the fourth program year and there is a lot of enthusiasm to see this program start back up after having to take a year off,” says LINC President Briana Mumme.  “The program not only provides exceptional leadership training and awareness of county assets, but relationships across the county.  The cohort of 24, participants will walk away with a network built on trust and respect, inspired to make their community better.”

Applications for the 2021-22 cohort are currently being accepted until July 20th, 2021.  The LINC Board encourage those post high school graduate to retirement age, whether you are new to the area or a life-long resident to learn more and apply at lincredwoodcounty.org.  Questions can be directed to [email protected] or Briana at (507) 637-7077.
