The Lake Redwood dredging project will officially be finished this coming weekend. On Sat., Oct. 22, exactly six months after beginning the project, the JF Brennan Company will complete dredging Lake Redwood.

A total of 682,880 cubic yards of sediment has been removed from Lake Redwood, surpassing the bid quantity of 657,329 cubic yards. The Redwood-Cottonwood Rivers Control Area Board of Directors approved the extra yardage as grant funding remained.

Brennan’s crew has begun preparing the Michael B. dredge for demobilization, and removal of the pipeline. The Michael B. will leave Redwood Falls the week of Oct. 24 as well as the pumps and other related equipment.

Brennan has subcontracted with Mathiowetz Construction Company to remove the pipeline and restore the driveways, field approaches and township roads the week of Oct. 31 through Nov. 4.  Affected owners will be notified by door hangers of their scheduled date, and contact numbers provided if other arrangements are needed.  Brennan asks drivers continue to be mindful of the construction equipment near the roadways during this time.

JF Brennan also extends their appreciation to the Redwood Falls community and local businesses for the support given to them during their time in Redwood Falls.
