On Thursday, KLGR’s Joshua Dixon spoke with Bryan Lydick, CEO of the hospital in Redwood Falls, and took a brief tour of the new 105,000 square foot combined hospital and clinic site, currently under construction.
Lydick discussed how construction at the new facility is progressing, the hospital’s upcoming new ambulance service, and the new electronic record keeping system starting at the hospital soon:
Construction crews worked on the upcoming inpatient rooms in the new hospital on Thursday.
The building project will take an estimated two and a half years, with completion in 2021. During the building process, the hospital and clinic will continue operations in their current locations with no disruptions to care.
Much underground infrastructure remains to be done behind the facility. The Redwood Falls water tower helps give a sense of where the hospital / clinic is located.
Carris Health – Redwood is hosting a beam signing this week, where members of the community can sign a steel beam that will be located in the walls of the new hospital.A small therapeutic swimming pool is currently being constructed behind the large window area in physical therapy section of the clinic.The clinic walls are going up on the eastern side of the facility. Crews hope to have the entire building enclosed by the end of the year so inside work can progress over the winter.
