On Thursday, several Kandiyohi County deputies caught a Willmar man driving a stolen vehicle.
On April 22, at about 7:31 p.m., a deputy on routine patrol noticed a northbound vehicle on County Road 2 SE. The deputy identified the vehicle as having been reported stolen in Minneapolis the day before.
The driver of the vehicle tried to escape the deputy by stopping near a residence. The driver, a 29 year old male from Willmar, exited the vehicle and confronted the deputy, refusing to comply with demands. A second Kandiyohi County deputy arrived and the driver was taken into custody. A passenger in the stolen vehicle, a 30 year old female from Willmar, was also taken into custody.
The occupants are being held in the Kandiyohi County jail pending formal charges.
