The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 trooper helped track down a Willmar resident wanted on an outstanding warrant Tuesday morning.
On March 9, at approximately 10:37 a.m., deputies with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office went to the 5000 block of Shady Oaks Road in rural Atwater in an attempt arrest an individual on an outstanding warrant. Upon seeing the deputies, the wanted individual fled on foot from the residence and ran across numerous fields in Harrison Township.
A 23 year old Willmar male was eventually arrested after being tracked and located by Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Cooper in a grove of trees just north of 41st Ave NE in Harrison Township. He was transported to the Kandiyohi County jail pending charges.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Atwater Police Department, Minnesota DNR and members of the CEE-VI Drug & Gang Task Force.
