Law enforcement has apprehended a juvenile male believed to have set a house fire in Dovre township northwest of Willmar on Thursday morning.
On Sept. 21, at 8:57 a.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house fire at a residence in the 3000 block of 8th Street NE in Dovre Township, northwest of Willmar. Emergency workers arrived to learn the occupants of the home, along with the pets, were out of the residence.
Investigators heard suggestions that a juvenile male who lives at the residence may have intentionally set the fire and fled. A search of the area was conducted by law enforcement and the juvenile was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office were the Willmar Police Department, Willmar Fire Department, Pennock Fire Department, Spicer Fire Department, Pennock First Responders, Kandiyohi Fire Department, and CentraCare Ambulance.
