Bird Island woman injured in one-vehicle accident near Hector Thursday morning

A Bird Island woman was injured when her vehicle went into the ditch in Renville County Thursday morning

On Thursday, August 17,  at 4:50 a.m, the Renville County  Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 4 near  820th Avenue in Renville County, about two miles north of Hector.  

Emergency responders found a 2015 Subaru sedan in the east ditch, driven by 58-year-old Maria Fischer of Bird Island.  The preliminary crash investigation indicated Fischer was traveling southbound on State Highway 4 when she lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle crossed over the center line leaving  the roadway into the east ditch.  

Fischer was transported  by ambulance to Health Partner’s Olivia for non-life threatening injuries.  

Alcohol/Drugs were not believed to be a factor. 

Renville County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Hector Ambulance Service, and Hector Fire
