The upcoming new Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Redwood County is set to have its groundbreaking ceremony this month, and you’re invited on Wednesday, Oct. 13. The new cemetery will be constructed at the intersections of Noble Avenue and Highways 19/71, at the beginning of the slope down into the Minnesota Valley toward Morton.

The 77-acre Cemetery is designed to serve 22,000 Veterans, their spouses and eligible family members. Groundbreaking activities begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13. The Department of Veterans Affairs will provide refreshments and music. Additionally, guests will find information about current Veterans programs, services and healthcare options as well as employment opportunities at the future Cemetery and area Veterans Homes.
