A Granite Falls man was slightly injured trying to avoid a deer in the road Sunday.

According to the Redwood County Sheriff’s office, at about 10:20 p.m. on April 25, a 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven by Shane Alan Nokleby, age 22, of Granite Falls, was on Highway 19. Near the intersection of Harvest Avenue, Nokleby swerved to avoid a deer crossing the road.

Nokleby did not hit the deer, but did swerve off the road and roll, landing on its roof. Nokleby was able to extricate himself from the vehicle, and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.
