A Granite Falls man is being charged with multiple felonies after allegedly attacking his girlfriend for three days in St. Paul university dorm room. Keanu Labatte of Granite Falls was arrested Sunday on the campus of St. Catherine University.

Prosecutors in Ramsey County charged Keanu A. Labatte, 19, on Monday with three counts of 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct, domestic assault by strangulation and threats of violence in connection with alleged attack.

Investigators say Labette became upset after finding messages and pictures on his girlfriend’s phone. He reportedly spent several days beating and sexually assaulting her, and at one point engaged in what the victim described as an effort to “waterboard” her.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident began Thursday evening and continued until Labatte allowed the woman to get food from the cafeteria Sunday morning.  The woman alerted campus security after leaving the dorm room.

Labatte has been charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct as well as domestic assault and making threats of violence.
