Fourth Kandiyohi County turkey flock reported Tuesday with bird flu

The Minnesota Board of Animal Health Tuesday reported two more turkey flocks infected with bird flu. A commercial flock of 20,450 turkey breeder hens in Kandiyohi County tested positive for H5N1, and is the fourth flock to come down with highly pathogenic avian influenza in Kandiyohi County this spring.

And a commercial flock of 34,000 turkey meat birds was diagnosed in Morrison County, and is that county’s second. In all, since the first positive case of H5N1 was reported March 25th, 636,648 birds have been infected in nine Minnesota Counties.
