Five injured, including three children, in Watonwan County collision Friday

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle collision in Watonwan County Friday afternoon.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Aug. 11, Katherine Mae Urevig, age 75, of Madelia was driving a Ford Edge westbound on the off ramp from 300th Street onto Highway 30. At about 1:37 p.m., her vehicle collided with a Chevrolet Silverado being driven by Jenna Joan Fossum, age 36, of Somerset, Wisconsin.

Urevig and Fossum were both transported to Madelia Health with non-life threatening injuries, as were Fossum’s three passengers, Francis Jeffrey Schmitt, age 4, Lowell James Schmitt, age 3, and Marjorie Ann Schmitt, age not given. Assisting at the scene were the Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office, and the Madelia Police, Fire, and Ambulance.
