A fire at a New London residence on Friday has prompted an arson investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s office.
On Nov. 10, at about 11:34 p.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a house fire in the 300 block of 4th Ave SE, in New London, with an unknown number of occupants inside the residence.
The New London Fire Department began putting out the fire on the south side of the residence. A forced entry into the residence showed no occupants.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Department states that due to the suspicious circumstances of the fire, the State Fire Marshal was notified. Preliminary investigation suggested the fire was intentionally set. The house suffered moderate damage, and there were no reported injuries.
Assisting on the scene were the New London Fire Department, Spicer Fire Department, New London Ambulance, and the State Fire Marshall.
