Several years after reopening after a fire severely damaged it, Lakeside Manor in Redwood Falls had a fire with a happier ending Tuesday.

At about 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 3, the Redwood Falls Fire Department was paged to an active fire at Lakeside Manor, on Minnesota Street.
According to Jeff Bommersbach of the Redwood Falls Fire Department, when firefighters arrived, they discovered the fire was contained to one apartment, and the building’s new fire sprinkler system had extinguished the blaze.
The fire department was on the scene for about an hour and a half, assisted by the Redwood Falls Fire Department and by Thielen Bus Service.
