Driver injured in Yellow Medicine County collision Friday

A man was injured in Yellow Medicine County on Friday when he vehicle left the road.

On April 16, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the intersection of County Road 18 and Highway 23 on a report of an accident. Upon arrival, emergency crews identified the driver as Adrian Olby, age 47.

Investigation suggested Olby had been eastbound on County Road 18 when he lost control of the vehicle, left the road, and struck a tree. Olby was airlifted by North Ambulance to a Twin Cities hospital. The accident is still under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were the Granite Falls Police Department, Upper Sioux Police Department, Hanley Falls Fire Department and First Responders, and the Cottonwood Ambulance.
