Minnesota DNR fisheries will be stocking three KLGR-area cold water trout streams with rainbow and brown trout this week. It will take place ahead of the April 16 trout stream opener, and will include Ramsey Creek in Redwood County, Fort Ridgely Creek in Renville County, and Spring Creek in Brown County.

The trout stocking program provides a unique fishing opportunity in southern Minnesota, according to regional fisheries manager Jack Lauer. Other trout streams in the region to be stocked are in Cottonwood, Lac qui Parle, Lyon and Nicollet Counties.

Anglers aged 16 years and up must have a fishing license. Adults must also purchase a trout stamp.
