The Minnesota Department of Commerce recently released the final rates for the 2022 individual health insurance market showing increases between 4.31% and 11.33% for health care consumers. Senator Gary Dahms (R-Redwood Falls), who authored the reinsurance program, released the following statement:

“We’ve worked extremely hard over the years to create a successful reinsurance program that stabilized health insurance rates for Minnesotans,” Dahms said. “Unfortunately, the Governor refused to fully fund the reinsurance program last session and the result is higher health care costs for families. We must work together to fully fund our individual health care market and ensure every Minnesotan has access to affordable health insurance.”
