In response to Redwood and/or Renville County’s policy(ies) regarding limited exposure during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the RRRSWA has implemented measures to help ensure reduced contact between employees and members of the public.

Beginning Friday, March 20, the following services will be altered or suspended until further notice:

1.    PRVATE HAULERS: We will not accept private haulers’ garbage at the Redwood/Renville Regional Material Recovery and Transfer Facility (RRRMRF or MRF) in Redwood Falls.  If you have a need to dispose of personal garbage, please make arrangements with a commercial hauler to get set up with either a dumpster or a curbside garbage cart (depending on where you live…the hauler will be able to advise you).  A list of licensed commercial haulers for both counties is available on our website.

2.    DEMOLITION MATERIAL DISPOSAL: The Renville County Demolition Landfill will be closed (EFFECTIVE March 24, 2020).  If you are a private hauler and have demolition materials to dispose of, please contact a commercial hauler for a roll-off or other container. If you are a contractor who regularly delivers demolition material to the landfill, please call the MRF and set up a charge account so you can begin to bring those materials directly to the transfer station in Redwood Falls.

3.    HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITIES: Both the Redwood and Renville County Household Hazardous Waste Facilities and product exchange rooms will be closed.

4.    SHREDDED PAPER:

a.    If you have pre-shredded paper, please make sure it is in sealed plastic bags so it can be placed in the specially marked dumpster/roll-off outside of the MRF Office area during regular business hours.

b.    If you are a business shredding customer, we want to accommodate you, but need to minimize person-to-person contact. Please call us at least 1 (one) hour before you are ready to bring us a full cart.  When you call us, we will provide instructions on cart exchange procedures. (No cart exchanges after 3:30 p.m. M-F)

c.     If you have personal papers to be shredded, we regret to inform you that at this time, that service will be suspended.  If you have a large amount to be shredded (i.e. cleaning out a house due to someone passing on or a moving situation), we can provide you a 65 gallon cart at no charge.  Please call with questions.
