COVID-19 News: June 26 update for southwestern Minnesota

Redwood County is now up to 14 confirmed cases of COVID-19, but no deaths, while Renville County has reached 19 cases, still with one death as of Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota Department of Health’s latest COVID-19 data shows 33 new cases in Blue Earth County, bringing that county’s total to 317. A majority of those positive COVID-19 cases are young adults; people in their 20s account for 167 cases.

MDH reports that all five of the state’s deaths reported Friday involved people living in long-term care or assisted living. Hospitalizations continue to remain overall steady. There are 335 people hospitalized today, one fewer than yesterday.
