The CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force has encountered counterfeit oxycodone pills in Yellow Medicine, Kandiyohi, Swift, Meeker, and Chippewa counties.

These fake medications may have different ingredients than the actual medication. In many cases they may contain lethal amounts of fentanyl. They are extremely dangerous because they often appear identical to legitimate prescription pills, and the user is likely unaware of how lethal they can be.
The task force recommends that, unless your prescription drugs are obtained from an authorized medical provider or pharmacy, please do not consume or even handle these pills. The possible presence of synthetic opioids contained in them is often lethal if consumed even if in the smallest amounts.
