Cosmos teen injured when vehicle rolls in Kandiyohi County Thursday afternoon

On Thursday, Sept. 9, at about 4 p.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single motor vehicle crash with injuries on the 400 block of 82nd Street SE, just south of the City of Kandiyohi.

Deputies located a 2002 Ford Focus that had rolled over. The driver was a 17-year-old male from Cosmos, with a 17-year-old passenger from Atwater. Investigation determined the vehicle had been traveling west, and attempted to maneuver a curve in the road. However, it entered the ditch and rolled.

The driver received minor injuries and the passenger was unharmed. The driver was cited for an instructional permit violation. This matter remains under investigation.
