Starting on Tuesday, the Redwood Falls Public Works Department will start seal-coating streets and paved alleys north of Broadway Street, east of Gould Street, and west of Dekalb Street. (See map.)

The process is weather-dependent, and rain could affect scheduling. The granite chips will be allowed to bind in place for one or two days, followed by street sweeping.

Cars and other vehicles need to be off the affected streets by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Parking lots at the Aquatic Center, Memorial Park, and the Liquor Lodge are included in the seal-coating this year, and will be closed on occasion. The parking lots will be closed again later in the week so city crews can sweep excess granite chips and do a final seal.
