City of Redwood Falls reminds residents that new sump pump regulations begin March 15

The City of Redwood Falls reminds residents that a new sump pump regulation designed to prevent clear water discharges into the sanitary sewers kicks in starting March 15.

As of Sunday, March 15, discharges must be to the outside of the premises. Sump pumps discharging clear water to the sanitary sewer will be in violation of the City Ordinance 66 – 4th Series, and will be subject to fines as set forth under this ordinance.

The City asks homeowners and renters to please check the sump pump in your residence. Make sure it is not discharging into the sanitary system, and that it is discharging outside of your home.
