Chippewa County Jail inmate death under investigation

The Minnesota BCA is helping the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department investigate the death of an inmate in his cell at the jail in Montevideo.

The sheriff’s department says 37-year-old Wesley Torke, Jr. of Granite Falls was found dead January 4th. No further info has been released at this time, and the sheriff’s office asked the state bureau of criminal apprehension for it’s help investigating.

Torke was in the jail awaiting a pre-sentence investigation after pleading guilty to a theft related charge on January 2nd.
