Two California residents were injured when the vehicle they were riding in overturned on icy roads near Windom on Monday.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 10:08 on Jan. 17, Kirk Gene Baker, age 42, of El Cajon, California was driving a Toyota Tundra westbound on Highway 60 in Jackson County. Near mile post 39, the Tundra left the icy road and rolled in the median.

Baker received non-life threatening injures, but did not need medical treatment. However, two passengers in his vehicle — Ashlee Marie Kirby, age 30, and a two year old female, both of Boulvard, California, were taken to the Windom Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, and the Windom Police and Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
