Buffalo Lake woman injured in a collision with a semi-truck Friday afternoon

A Buffalo Lake woman was injured in a collision with a semi-truck Friday afternoon.

On Oct. 16, at about 2:16 p.m., the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 810th Ave & 520th St., about two miles north of Buffalo Lake, in Preston Lake Township.

The preliminary investigation revealed  41-year-old Felix Papa of Murdock, was driving a 1999 International Semi tractor/trailer when he failed to yield to a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 25-year-old Sarah Schaffer of Buffalo Lake.  Schaffer received injuries resulting from the crash and was transported to Health Partners – Olivia by the Buffalo Lake Ambulance Service.  Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Assisting on the scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Buffalo Lake Ambulance, Buffalo Lake Fire, Hector Fire Department, Buffalo Lake Police Department, and the Hector Police Department.

The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
