Brown County Sheriff’s Office warns of scam in SW MN

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office in New Ulm has received multiple reports claiming Chief Deputy Jeremy Reed was attempting to contact members of the community, and leaving a message to call him back.

The caller’s voice had a southern accent, and the number that was reported is not associated with Chief Deputy Jeremy Reed or the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. This is a scam.

As a reminder, law enforcement will never ask for your banking information, social security numbers or personal identification over the phone or email. Please keep your private information private.
