Polls are open until 8 p.m. today in Olivia, Bird Island, and Lake Lillian to decide if the BOLD school district will replace its nearly 100-year old high school.

Two questions will be decided today — whether to replace the high school at a cost of $57.4 million. The second is whether to build a new athletic complex next to the new school, at a cost of an additional $5.2 million. The new complex would include a football field and track-and-field track.

School officials estimate if both the high school and the athletic complex are approved, it will increase taxes on a typical home in the district by about $250 a year.
