Bird Island woman injured in Renville County semi-truck rollover Saturday

A Bird Island woman was injured Saturday when the semi-truck she was driving rolled over on an icy Renville County road.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on March 18, at about 3:42 p.m., Sarah Ann Thorp, age 43, was driving a 2023 Freightliner semi eastbound on Highway 212. At about 3:42 p.m., near mile post 82, the truck crossed the median and entered the west bound ditch.

Thorp was transported to the hospital in Olivia with non-life threatening injuries.

Assisting on the scene were the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, the Bird Island Fire Department, and Olivia ambulance.
