A Belgrade woman was killed in a Kandiyohi County collision on Friday morning.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, at about 10:18 a.m. on March 5, a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Marilyn Joan Hagen, age 82, of Belgrade, was southbound on Highway 71 near County Road 34. Hagen’s vehicle crossed the center line, and collided with a 2000 Kenworth semi-truck being driven by Bruce Frederick Bruns, age 54, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Hagen’s injuries were fatal, while Bruns was transported to the hospital at Willmar with non-life threatening injuries. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Belgrade Fire Department and Fire Department, and Minnesota Department of Transportation all assisted at the scene.
