Bail set at half-a-million dollars for Willmar attempted murder suspect

Unconditional bail has been set at half-a-million dollars for a Willmar man accused of injuring two people with a knife on June 21.   According to KWLM, Eveth Garcia Talabera, age 26, is charged with six offenses, including Attempted 2nd Degree Murder along with assault, threats of violence and 3 counts of domestic assault after allegedly attacking two people in his home June 21st.

Talabera was arrested after a police officer broke down the door of a bedroom where Garcia Talabera had barricaded himself.   The officer suffered minor injuries in the process, and the suspect and his alleged victims also suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the initial assault.

Garcia Talabera’s next court appearance before Judge Jennifer Fischer is set for July 5.
