ATV rider killed in collision in Redwood County Saturday afternoon

An ATV rider was killed in a crash in Redwood County Saturday afternoon.

At about 12:52 p.m., on July 25, the Redwood County Sheriff Office responded to a motor vehicle vs ATV crash on CSAH 6 and 230th St. in Vail Twsp. 

Preliminary investigation determined a Polaris Ranger had over turned, killing the operator after it was struck in the intersection by a Dodge Durango driven by Mary Heiling, age 56. 

The ATV operator’s name is currently being withheld pending further investigation and notifications.

The crash is under investigation by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol.  The

Wabasso Fire and Ambulance, CentraCare Ambulance, and the Minnesota DNR assisted.
