ATV Rider Killed In Collision In Redwood County Saturday Afternoon (Update, with rider identified)

On Tuesday the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office identified Dennis Fennern, age 85, of Wabasso, as the operator of the ATV who was killed in a motor vehicle crash last weekend. 

At about 12:52 p.m., on Saturday, July 25, the Redwood County Sheriff Office responded to a motor vehicle vs ATV crash on County Road 6 and 230th St. in Vail Twsp. 

Preliminary investigation determined a Polaris Ranger operated by Fennern had overturned when his vehicle was struck in the intersection by a Dodge Durango driven by Mary Heiling, age 56. 

The crash is under investigation by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol.  The Wabasso Fire and Ambulance, CentraCare Ambulance, and the Minnesota DNR assisted.
