Assault and attempted homicide suspect captured in Redwood County Tuesday (Updated: suspect identified)
A suspect wanted for felony assault and attempted homicide in Pelican Rapids was captured in Redwood County early Tuesday morning.
Phoutthasa Prathane, age 36, was wanted for the Sunday shooting of a man now hospitalized in stable condition.
On April 12, at about 3:42 a.m., the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle for failure to display license plates and the vehicle failed to stop.
Prathane led deputies in a three mile pursuit before hitting stop sticks set up by the Redwood Falls Police Department. The vehicle traveled another mile at high speeds before stopping its front right tire being blown out.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Redwood Falls Police Department.
