A drug and gang task force uncovered illegal drugs and firearms during a raid in Willmar on Tuesday.

On Dec. 15, the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force and the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant, based on information that stolen firearms were inside a residence. With the assistance of the Willmar Police Department SWAT team, they approached a resident in the 600 block of Southeast Lakeland Drive in Willmar.
While law enforcement was on the scene, several people attempted to flee the scene on foot but were apprehended. Other people were located inside the residence, and in the garage on the property,  including an infant.
The search warrant uncovered numerous firearms, including one that had been reported stolen, and another with the serial number removed. In addition, an illegal sawed-off short-barreled shotgun was seized.
A secondary search warrant was obtained to seize methamphetamine, BHO (Butane Hash Oil), K2
(synthetic cannabinoids) and other controlled substances and drug paraphernalia that were found inside the residence and garage.
Several people were taken into custody on controlled substance and firearms related charges. The investigation is active and ongoing.
